A one day International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility and Organisational Governance was held under the aegis of FISAT Business School, in Federal Institute of Science and Technology (FISAT), Mookannoor, Angamaly on 19th August from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm in FBS Seminar Hall. It was presided over by Dr. K. S. M. Panicker, Director (Academics), FISAT and formally inaugurated by Dr George Issac, Principal, FISAT. Dr George V Antony, Dean, FISAT Business School and Conference Chair, introduced the conference theme and deliberated the relevance and importance of understanding CSR from organisational governance perspective. The gathering was welcomed by Dr Anoo Anna Anthony, Associate Professor, FBS and Organising Secretary of the conference. A special address was delivered by Dr Naotoshi Umeno, Professor, Graduate School of Business, University of Hyogo, Japan. Mr. Raju Hormis, son of the founder of The Federal Bank, Shri Hormis Tharakan and Head- CSR, Federal Bank initiated the technical session. Mr. Joseph Thomas, Country Head, Open University Malaysia, Mr. Varghese Manaloor of the University of Alberta, Canada , Mr Vinod Y.R. Chief Business Development Officer, Aster Medicity , Prof. Naotoshi Umeno, Hyogo University, Japan, Professor Jiby Varghese, Associate Professor, and NSS Programme Officer, FISAT and Adv. Shyam Padman, Advocate and Legal Consultant, delivered talks in the forenoon session. The latter half of the conference was brought up by Mr. Govindan P, GM- Marketing, KTC Group and Adv. Abdulla Maliyekkal, Secretary, CII, Calicut. Mr. Raghav and Ms. Anita students of FBS concluded with their study on the importance of CSR. The valedictory address was delivered by Mr Sabu Augustine, Head (HR), Nitta Gelatin, India Ltd. The conference also had cultural performance of the participants from India, Japan and China. The highlight of the conference was the international scope covering participants from Japan, India, Canada, Malaysia and China.
